BMW Motorrad is all set to launch the F 450 GS in India soon. First seen at EICMA 2024 and later at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the adventure bike’s patent images have now surfaced, revealing its near-production design. With R 1300 GS-inspired styling, it aims to shake up the mid-capacity ADV segment

BMW F 450 GS Design Inspired by R 1300 GS
BMW Motorrad first showcased the F 450 GS Concept at EICMA 2024 and later at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
While test mules had been spotted earlier, the newly surfaced patent images confirm what the production version will likely look like.
The design remains largely faithful to the concept but includes subtle enhancements for improved functionality.
Highlights include a twin-barrel LED headlamp, sharp front beak, extended radiator shrouds, and a large windscreen.
The rear houses a split-seat layout, mid-mounted foot pegs, and adjustable levers. Notably, the exposed subframe seen in the concept has been removed in the production model.
Feature-Rich Adventure Tourer
Though the complete features list will be disclosed closer to the launch, the F 450 GS is expected to come equipped with a coloured TFT display, full-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, multiple riding modes, cruise control, and traction control.
BMW may also introduce the rotary-style jog dial seen on the larger R 1300 GS for better rider interface.
Performance and Powertrain
Powering the BMW F 450 GS will be a 450cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
It is expected to produce around 48 bhp and 45 Nm of torque — suitable for both city commuting and off-road touring.
Verdict
The upcoming BMW F 450 GS looks set to offer premium features and rugged styling in a mid-capacity adventure bike. With a design rooted in the iconic R 1300 GS, it could be a game-changer in India’s ADV segment.
